Patrick's story.

Patrick joined the company in July, one of the busiest months. Most of his training will be through on the job experience and peer coaching.

Training cost versus training risk.

Patrick's initial training was a concentrated week spent learning the ordering system, absorbing product knowledge, practicing selling techniques, operating and caring for equipment, and a full spectrum of safety training. He was then issued his van and began working his territory.

INCREASED CALLBACKS

The office received a callback from a restaurant customer Patrick had serviced a few days earlier. The restaurant was complaining about the restroom odor. Patrick is 22 miles from the restaurant when he receives the call.

COSTLY TRAVEL

Patrick's in a fleet vehicle, on the clock, in holiday traffic, and traveling for callback when he could be selling to a new client or servicing an existing one. The hard cost (without the opportunity loss) are upwards of $1.50 per minute.
